Looking to put a spin on your classic spaghetti recipe? Cheesy baked spaghetti casserole is perfect for a cozy family meal, or a crowd.. sure to be a hit!! It's easily freezable too!
1 (16 ounce) package spaghetti
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (26 ounce) jar meatless spaghetti sauce (I use homemade sauce, however for a super easy fast meal, I love the Newman's Own Original Marinara)
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
5 tablespoons butter, melted
2 Packs of Cream Cheese (room temp) -- Fun substitute: you can also use cottage cheese or ricotta cheese!
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
Cook spaghetti according to package directions.
Cook onion and ground beef over medium heat until onions are translucent and meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the spaghetti sauce and seasoned salt; set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, Italian seasoning, Parmesan cheese and butter. Drain spaghetti add to egg mixture and toss to coat.
Place half of the spaghetti mixture in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish. Top with half of the cream cheese, meat sauce and cheeses. Repeat layers. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes. Uncover; bake 20-25 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.
Serve topped with remaining sauce to liking and enjoy!
